As I started the summer with the Ambassadors I was truly excited to see where it took me not only in baseball, and the United States, but also in my walk with God. Through the first couple of weeks it is was extremely busy and very intense, which to start, made me a little nervous as I realized my time with my family and friends was clearly going to be limited. As for anyone that had never been used to being away from my family for long periods of time I was skeptical as to how it would turn out.
As the summer progressed it got easier and easier and it did so very quickly. The guys that I just saw as another group of teammates quickly turned into friends and then not long after, family. Not only did we play good baseball, we were a great group of guys as a team. Doing discipleship every morning and every night for eight weeks we grew together closer and so much faster than I ever expected. Being able to share the things that I struggled with in the past such as my knee injury with others and knowing that there could be somebody in the audience that was struggling from the same problems and could be motivated or find the drive to work and get back to doing what they love was something that really helped keep me encouraged to keep doing this. At the end of it all, I came out feeling as though I had not only helped myself by coming out of my comfort zone and telling others about God and my testimony, but more as if I had helped others with their personal problems as well as with their walk with God. To be an Ambassador was truly a blessing and humbling experience and I hope that anyone that has the chance to do it will.
