Coach & Volunteer Application

Volunteer Expectations & Code of Conduct

The coaches and staff are dedicated to more than competition. As leaders, mentors, role models, and as examples of Christ-like character, the coaches and staff will do the following:

  • Coach the game of baseball like it is supposed to be coached, striving for excellence.
  • Exemplify Christ-like character of the highest standard as a role model for all players.
  • Recognize the needs of each individual and reinforce the self-image and worth of each team member.
  • Encourage each team member to strive toward personal goals and achieve their highest potential.
  • Challenge players to develop the qualities of competence, character, civility, Christian behavior, accountability, and Bible study.
  • Provide a safe and challenging environment for practice and competition.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of the game umpires.
  • Build and maintain Christian relationships with each player.
  • Strive for excellence in coaching skills and techniques.
  • Be modest in victory and gracious in defeat.
  • Be an example to each player by living out positive, Christian values in the following ways: 1) abstaining from the use of alcohol, tobacco, gambling, and drugs, 2) having no visible tattoos while in an official capacity unless otherwise approved by the board, 3) not wearing earrings (men) while coaching/volunteering.
  • Engage in behavior that is a positive witness of Jesus Christ to those who are watching your actions, on and off the field.
  • Be above reproach; do not place yourself or others in a position in which inappropriate behavior could be suspected.
  • Be mindful that The Ambassadors represent Christ (2 Corinthians. 5:20), your name, your family, and your home church.
