Resolved Academy, Week 8

Miss Kristen's Desk

As we close the first quarter of Resolved Academy, I am thrilled to have seen so much growth in each of our students. Each student has worked extremely hard in their studies and now understands to a greater degree the importance of the Word of God in their education. As the students prepare to learn more about the Reformation on Sunday, I am confident that they have and will continue to receive the foundation of understanding needed when examining our heritage and its importance today.
In place of Science class, we had our October practicum with a local meteorologist! In this practicum, students learned more about tornadoes and the various seasons. Students were able to get several of their weather related questions answered while learning what it is like to be a meteorologist. In our apologetics class, the students learned about how God is immutable, He never changes.. We evaluated Hebrews 13:8 and discussed how God and His Word never change. God’s justice, love, and grace never change even though we are not immutable. Lastly, in our Biblical History/Geography class, we completed our discussion of the Reformation for the year. The students reviewed everything that was taught over these past 7 weeks. I also split the class into three groups and had each give a small presentation of a Reformer and their support of the 5 Solas of the Reformation.
I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach each of our students, it is an absolute joy for me to teach each week as I continue to watch each of our students learn as they dive deeper into God’s Word and understand who He is. I eagerly look forward to our next quarter and pray that it would result in even more growth and a continued desire to learn.
